new york city

A couple weekends ago I overpacked my carry on and took a trip to the big apple. I arrived Thursday evening and woke up bright and early Friday to attend the Brand New Conference, an annual design conference with a focus on corporate and brand identity. After each speaker I was more and more inspired and proud to call myself a "designer". One moment I will never forget was listening to Massimo Vignelli speak. He's a true legend!

The rest of the weekend left time for site-seeing and major photography ops! Some of my favorite stops included Chelsea, SoHo (mainly for shopping), The Brooklyn Bridge and The High Line. Lugging around the 7d wasn't fun & sometimes painful, but the photos always make it worth it.

bathroom for the mrs.

Hi, everyone! It's been so long since I updated the blog with a room post and now that E and I have almost finished redecorating every square inch of the apartment it seemed like a perfect time to share one of our finished spaces. Our new apartment has really turned out to be a perfect place to start married life. We're 30 minutes outside the city with el access, E only has a 25 min commute to the suburbs (most of the time) and we're steps away from some great restaurants in Oak Park.

This location has much to offer and the interior is nothing to complain about either, especially since with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths there's a bathroom for each of us! Even though I don't have the 48" vanity I did at the Cincinnati house I do have a beautiful changing area with ample room for storage. My favorite details include the tile surround, beautiful wedding photography by Ben Elsass and the ombre curtain.
